A huge thanks to all who attended the 2017 Spring Fling Weekend.  This year’s event was the largest to date with well over 500 bus enthusiasts in attendance.

The weekend began with a dinner Friday night in the rotunda at the museum.  Over 100 people attended the dinner and Premier provided the delicious food.

The Saturday event featured 43 vendor tables, and 50 visiting buses that ranged from antique/classic to school buses and conversion coaches.  Sorrento’s food truck was at the event.

The shuttle bus operated from the rear of the museum, which was a huge success.  This gave the guests direct access to both the vendors and the food truck.  The shuttle ran multiple trips per hour with all buses full.  A huge thanks to Wolf’s bus and driver, Dough Replogle for providing the shuttle.

All enjoyed the newly revamped annex.  Guests had many photo opportunities and experiences.  The annex volunteers noted that many visitors spent extra time at the annex this year.

The museum gave out two trophies.  The Long Distance Award was given to Mr. Frank Gonzalez, who brought his MC5 from Montebello, CA.  This bus was donated to our museum at Spring Fling.  The People’s Choice Award was given to The Friends of the NJ Transportation Heritage Center;  The winning bus was the GM4903.  The friends are annual supporters of our event and had seven buses there this year.

Our First Annual Parade of Buses began at 2pm.  The parade highlighted many of our visiting buses and each bus had the opportunity to pass around the museum and under the museum canopy to allow for many photo chances for our guests.

The Events Committee would like to thank everyone for attending and we look forward to seeing you for Spring Fling 2018!
